http://samleong.shop/showthread....69496&page=166 and i was saying "there are a lot of things to learn and adjust when you marry a VN partner. So guys who are looking for VN partners be prepared"

Married a VN gal a couple of year ago and it's been great. However, it is still a learning curve for both of us in terms of daily life.

1. Language. while we communicate in english (sorry, my viet tieng still non existence), it takes time to understand what we really meant. This adds to our frustration sometimes but it also makes us patient with each other.

2. Relatives. While in sg, we might meet and communicate with relatives once in a while. The vietnamese seems to be in constant communication with relatives including those that are very distant like grandfather's cousin's son blah blah. Always seems to get involved in something.

3. Offering help. The vietnamese love to offer help, to buy or carry things for their friends and relative especially when we travel back to vn. It is so often that i only buy one way baggage to vn. Oh, and they will squeeze every little space out of the bag and try their luck with hang baggage weight . Kena a couple of times because of that.

4. Food. I love viet food but sometimes when wife prepare our meals, i will remind her abt proper wash. I think most people who been to vn will noticed how they prepare their meals on the floor.

These are MY experience. So for guys looking for vn partner be prepared for some of these things and maybe more. Obviously there are people here who have experienced very different things but i guess it's what sharing is for especially trying to understanding your partner who is from a different cultural background
Everyone with viet bx have experiences of what you describe, but don't worry they will be localize after 4 -5 years stay in sillypore & even better if got baby, localize faster. Recommend her your sillyporean friends & their wife,
bit by bit educate her on sillypore culture, eventually when her social circle in sillypore widen, she will less contact on Vn friend & relative
