I have the same thoughts as Bro Cal.
Not really digging the SM bar scene for reasons being:
1) preference for peace and quiet instead
2) age
3) privacy issue (most important)
4) viewing the session as a pure business transaction. Am not there to make friends or have casual talk with the mistress. When I was younger yes, I longed to know the mistress on a personal level but certainly not now.
5) trying to give other nationalities a chance and even the locals

To each his own, although I have to agree some of my best times were the result of attending fetish parties
