No need worry,depending on your budget. Usually 1st timer i will advise to bring S$300 exclude ferry ride.I don't know your situation cos you didn't specify it clearly but booking taxi driver for whole day usually is abt S$35.00,and Hotels below S$25 will get free insects,eg crocoaches ,mosquito type and no lift from 1st floors to other floors. S$30 and above is a bit better...i stay around S$50 above type of hotel.

After making yr 1st trip to Batam,your next trip will be much lesser. Reason,everyone has a different character and ways of spending money,and only on 2nd trip you will know what you REALY wish/want to spend on.
