In Chinese culture giving clocks to someone signifies sending one to his/her final death. Giving pears means hopefully the receiver's family/frens will breaks up. And the number 4 is not an auspicious number or a good sign,more so when it is during CNY. So what i am saying here is while one may have every good intention to treat a person well,but when one lacks the understanding of the receiver's culture and brought up,the good intention may end up becoming like a curse or nightmare.

The Japanese boss shld have just give the china workers an ang pao each,so easy and cost effective & yet they make it so complicated.
