I am far from rich, i am just a little above average. I hold different views and lifestyle from the rest. I do cheong when i was younger, but i know when to stop. Cheonging and lam tinh weren't the first thing on my mind when i woke up in the morning and neither were they the last thing i thought of before going to bed at night. After coming back from the UK, i was a poor fresh graduate and i felt my pay wasn't enough to sustain me if i cheong a lot. Even after setting up business in VN, income was unstable and soon after, i met my wife , got married and have kids. I needed to save the money for my family. I did have my No.2 for a period of time in VN, but i let her go after i realised that she's also going for money also. A man needs a career and assets in order to achieve more in life. Life has more to offer than just lam tinh and com tam. I have not stepped into a bar / nightspot for the past 5 years and i will never for the next 5 or 10 years too. I don't feel proud being a cheongster as i know most cheongsters are broke. Make your dick happy by burning your pocket and sacrificing family happiness, that's not what i want. I have seen too much in VN when i was staying there, i saw how happy families were broken up because of the husband's / wife's affairs outside. I have seen how rich old Singaporean man went to Vn with a nearly million SGD and came back broke like shit and ended up in old folks home, all because he thought he knows the VB well and can manipulate them into giving him sex with little price paid. I never underestimate the VBs as i know they got more than what you can think of up their sleeves. After coming back, i met and seen how local man with Viet spouse brag without brains. Stay in 3 room flat and still need to rent out 1 room to earn income, drives a taxi and yet the wife goes around bragging to everybody that they are very rich as the husband got `income' that cannot be declared. I see how viet spouse take education for kids as unimportant and how they demand that their children speak TV all the time. I see how VB have bfs outside and yet put up a good show infront of the SGP husband by acting demure.
A man without a house above the head, without a career and without responsibility is a loser. Being a cheongster is nothing to be proud of. (no offense to any samster here) . You can lift your head high when you work hard and is able to achieve what most others cannot achieve and is also able to raise up highly educated children.
