And actually, them keeping the girl's ID should make it safer for us mongers as it IS a bit of an insurance that the gal is not gonna rip you off and run away. But of course, fake ID's are so cheaply and readily obtainable, but hey...every little bit helps!

And a question - from what a China hotel owner friend tells me; basically he tells me that whilst there ARE laws against prostitution in China, there are none against immorality. In this day and age, its an impossibility to regulate adults from having consensual sexual relationships/committing adultery etc and thus there can be no laws to proscribe 2 consenting adults from checking in a hotel to do the UNPAID-FOR deed. So the question is - does this also apply in Vietnam too?

That if one gets raided by the LE, all one needs to establish is that what they are up to is just a garden variety romance/succumbing to lust with no money changing hands - and all should be hunky-dorey?
