Even in Hong Kong, I'm pretty sure that there is NO restaurants that specializes in serving RIVER/FRESH WATER fish. Seafood restaurants - dime a dozen, but none that I know of which specializes in river fish.

You mean there are THAT many restaurants in HCMC specializing in serving these fresh water fish? I remember that the Cat fish was the Featured dish at that restaurant.

Anyway, I guess this is not an important matter.

basa or catfish is like poor mans fish, u can get that served EVERYWHERE, there is also snakehead fish http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snakehead_%28fish%29 tahst also another poor mans fish, the rich mans river fish is ca hoi = salmon and tis is farmed in the mountainous areas around sapa, sapa also has ca suoi, which i dont know what it is in english, then the most common delicacy is ca keo which is a species of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goby...now this is just touching the tip of the iceberg
