I entered once some years ago, alone and with zero skills of communications in Chinese or Bahasa.
I was not even able to communicate with staff and permitted to proceed after the reception corridor.
One of the most embarassing experiences I had in Batam.

Hello Maddog! I just arrived today. So happy!
1) Dinner under the Mosque at Nagoya Hill (marveillous sotong and two fishes barbecued, baby kailan, rice, juice, for only 201.000 rp!) (The boss waited to receive also the 1000rp. Dun even thought about rounding the bill)
Make yourself a favour and go there to enjoy fresh fish.
2) I went to Pacific at 1am, miserably empty. I was greeted by two nice WG (one well seasoned, one just arrived to Batam). I did not think twice. 1 hour dance and then sortem with both in my room for 500k+500k. Standard experience, but they were nice and accommodating girls.
