What I did on my last 2 trip is I went for breakfast (I take the first or 2nd ferry, ate nasi lemak and soya bean milk) at the bread shop near the harbour, sit close to the entrance, just hang around there and wait for cab to pass by and flag them down. paid 30K in both instance.

The whole trick of getting cheaper taxi ride is,when MANY passengers alighted from ferry,there are lots of them willing to pay the higher 50k and above prices,but after MOST passengers are flush off by the 1st batch of crocodile taxi drivers,the remainder taxi drivers got no choice but to lower their rates cos ferry passengers are lesser then. And it only takes 20mins or so of waiting.

In other word,when the whole ferry load of people alight from ferry,it directly creates a HIGH demand for taxis. When these ferry load of people disappear in about 20 mins time,demand will drop drastically,hence the lower price.

I always go to departure hall where taxi driver drops their customer to head to board ferry to smoke 1st,then observe...being approached by taxi drivers and then i bargain. Taxi driver open mouth price is 60k (i heard recently) versus getting 30k is double the amount. Maximum i will pay for taxi from Harbour Bay to Kaha,then to Formosa is 40k.

Hehehe...what is 10k to 30k rupiah for any Sillypore tourist in Batam,just like what is S$50 to S$100 for a China/Dubai/Germany tourist in Sillypore....lol.

Alternatively beside just being another haunted room in Formosa Hotel,I think he could be another nono1973-look-alike who likes to go to the right side audio store (facing lucky plaza) from Formosa building,get an audio cable from there and connect it to the LCD TV from his comp and blast up the volume while watching porn or at least keep the volume high up when he is not in-room,hehehe....

Something i often do in my stay...lol. I also leave the audio cable hidden inside the room whenever i check out of hotel too.
