10k is about 1 SGD! Worth avoiding walking OUTSIDE Harbour Bay, as it was even suggested by someone. Also, those drivers are NOT rich. They make a living from small money and mostly have families to sustain.
Just be sure to pay a fair 50k, the standard rate from HB to Nagoya, and do not be frightened if on arrival the driver demands more. Pay and leave. (or inform the driver in advance)

50k for taxi is the market rate? Now i understd y there is saying,it is harder for an old cow to learn new things.& thx for being one of the guys in Batam to spoil the market & yet so proud of it. Yes,u are 1 of those.U been to Batam so many times,read this thread,& yet. At least i know u are 1 reason y the prices keep going up.
