Correct me if I’m wrong – but I’m under the impression that it’s particularly hard for foreigners/visitors to get “local pricing” or even access to many providers in Vietnam.

China – usually not hard to get local pricing with a bit of knowledge and persistence – and in fact, the locals usually don’t mind, sometimes even preferring to pay a premium in their belief (Mistaken?) that the higher the price the better; Hong Kong – pricing and availability is all out in the open via the various internet sites; Thailand, probably the Soapies will have a bit of a farang surcharge (IMHO not that often actually), whilst the locals usually just stay away from the bars etc.; Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, seems that the mongering scene primarily caters to the visitors as the mongering scene for local is not developed enough as the citizens do not yet have the disposable income to partake, and if so, that segment is just too low class for the foreigners to also participate in; even in Singapore, Geylang prices are all pretty well standardized, and I think I can even get better prices than you locals at Orchard Towers! Oh, I of course know you guys don’t go to the four floors of whores, but I know that if you do, most of the girls there would be quite leery of accompanying you, thinking that you may be an undercover cop! LOL

Just my own general observations - but in Vietnam, somewhat akin to Japan and Korea, it just seems so much harder for foreigners to get good pricing and/or the best supplies.
