I think Chachucak are more to tourist weekend market. You should try Talad Rot Fai located at Seacon Square. There's not BTS or MRT.

If you with your friend, can share taxi fare, each about 60-70bht. Assuming you taking from your hotel.

Just tell them Seacon square. It's right beside this shopping mall. Open Fri onwards from 6pm. There's many hipsters and indies seen ess towards 10pm onwards. Open till late.
