Actually it is very normal to be pestered by motorcyclists or taxi drivers in Batam (or anywhere in 3rd world Asia countries). Just reject them politely and move away quickly.The pestering are harmless,its more like a daily routine in Batam,almost like those streetwalkers in Geylang asking you "yao bu yao" whenever you pass them by,hehehe...I am just curious,which place were you at where you were "most pestered"?
