Lolz...tat time, no flower hanging joints like S'pore....just singer with piano only. Just to share a little.....when the last trip I was there, brought a group of newbies and I informed them of wat to pay and how much and things like tat. When in the pub.....all were giving $2 hongbao to the singer for her to sing their songs.....except one bro who gave $20 tip. Immediately, the whole group rag him for spoiling the market....but it was a honest mistake as he didn't catch my advice...and as we were all friends.........no ill feelings....

Yes, 700 women; we had a saying, any women u see walking along the street........is 99.9% prostitute. Anyway, believe there is a thread on Tanjung Pinang but think it's dying from lack of chiongsters going there or it's no longer a place for chionging. The last I heard that the two villages were merged into one but the nbr of girls have been reduced....and the price has gone up(inflation).
Tanjung Pinang was not only known for the villages but also the more laid back and good cheap seafood as Batam was being `invaded' by S'porean food businesses...which upped the prices.....though cheap by S'pore standard.......but not so if compared to Tanjung Pinang.

I don't know the nbr of girls at Tanjung Balai but I'm sure u right as my kakis.....changed their monthly trips from Batam to Balai...and were raving about their trips there but I had changed my focus else where. Balai nick name is Mistress island. Btw, good info on Balai.....
