Personally if I've already booked air tickets I'll proceed but with caution.
So far in Bangkok no precedent of terrorism incidents at cheonging places yet.
Avoid taking motosai and taxis during this period as you'll be human target for bomb ball bearings/nails or bullet richochets.
MRT is good as security is vigilant with bag checking.

In 28/11/2008 during the protest by PAD at Suvarnabhumi International Airport and closures of airports I called HOME TEAM to get some assistance as I saw on TV news that China and Philippines have sent chartered flights to send their affected citizens home. Reply was, "Singapore no have wor.".
In my mind..
First world nation more kiam siap than developing nations.
To cut the long story short I've to get back to Singapore via combination of coach + plane from another Thailand airport!
During that time a civil war could possibly broke out and HOME TEAM chose to be reactive.
Until now I think back of this matter I still sibei dulan.
Also another incident in China which is another story for another time.
This coming GE I'll exercise my right!
