So you have to call it "teh obeng" (sweeten ice tea) Actually the meaning of obeng means screwdriver, don't know how the hell they get this name for tea o ice ?
They will normally brew the jasmine tea with sugar syrup and stir to dissolve before mixing with ice cube.
Not so sure about the story behind it. But it sounds more like how I order "teh peng" in singapore which means tea with milk + ice. I am assuming they copy that dialect of "peng" and it eventually become teh o beng.
