Very truthful ratings you have given.
For me,the surrounding of the hotels are very important to me,eg. air quality, easy access to anywhere, the vehicles moving outside the hotel, the buildings surrounding it etc etc.
And as for the internal part, the air quality i step inside a hotel and its room, the sun's capability to shine inside the room, after i open the room window and door if the room is able to "breathe" on its own,if there are snake, worms, rats or insects (蛇虫鼠蚁) inside room etc. These are just basics,hehehe...
Thats why most time i pick Formosa Hotel as my final destination to stay whenever i am in Batam. Road outside hotel has good flow of traffic which acts like river, nearby to most places, air quality isnt stale (outside) and unblocked by other buildings.
The room allows sunlight to shines in,able to breathe on its own when i open windows and doors,no visible snake, worms, rats or insects(蛇虫鼠蚁)inside the room (mostly dead ones tho),etc.
I did some research on basic fengshui stuffs when i was younger,so i have the tendency to change my resting environment to suit myself and i even went to the extend to spend some time to ward 3 of the formosa hotel rooms which i usually call it "my rooms" in accordance to my The Eight Characters of Birth Time,in Chinese it means 生辰八字,hehehe...i know,i know...i am superstitious. But that is just me and i practically check every single room in the hotel given the fact i stayed in some of them for a substantial amount of time,hehehe..and not all rooms are good rooms including "my rooms". There are still insects the hotel cannot get rid of.
Remember i talk about the room i stayed in at Gideon Hotel, where i can "walk over" to the next building in one step? That is my definition of building blocking the hotel. The whole hotel building was "forced" into one tight corner if you look from outside in and with sharp corners. Traffic flow directly outside the hotel is almost dead which I call it a “dead pool” of water. Imagine one stays in this hotel for a bit longer time (most dont as they are tourists).
Remember i found a lizard in the Junior Suite room in my
19th Batam trip at City Central hotel? Lizard represents snakes.Luckily I wasn’t born in the Chinese Astro animal sign where its common known to be a snake’s food. And the stale air when i open the window in the junior suite? There were smell of rubbish chute that creates “dirty air” but luckily the air flows was good which means the room can breathes w/o turning on the air con. The junior room was situated behind the hotel, hence the stale air whereas most of their deluxe rooms were situated IN FRONT of the hotel and has a window,hehehe...which gives the room proper air flow.
Da vinena has a clear unblock surrounding, with clean air and good air flows. Traffic flows outside the hotel building representing the river looks pretty smooth flowing. The building is tall, hence it allows good enough sun lights to shines into the room.
There are other hotels i stayed in but i think i already talked too much in this post, maybe next time got chance than share more about it,hehehe...sorry,i sounded long-winded again...lol.
This is a "just for the fun" post,hehehe...
