And no, Vietjet don't do this for every flight. It was a publicity stunt they pulled last year. Got fined by the VN aviation authority for it. However, it was fine/money well spent because it generated the kind of publicity you have to pay many times more to achieve. It's the case of negative publicity better than no publicity (and let's be honest...only PC cop berate it for being sexists...but you can't argue with result. The boys among us would happily take Vietjet out of it...no hangup there)
Yes, their cheap flight also help. In all, I usually see Vietjet (and I fly them 10 times a year) flight always at 80-100% capacity for their SEA route. They kicking serious ass and even big boys like JetStar playing catch-up for Vietnam market.
