I want to contribute more 'info' -- someone PM'd me asking why I don't here but do on ISG. A long time ago I tried to provide top quality detailed info, that time it was about how to operate in the Hai Ba Trung bars (no longer exist as it did then) and was dissuaded from doing that. For various reasons, but honestly I think a main reason is that some here just do not want such info shared. Only in person. I disagree.
One thing I think there is no reason we can not talk about here is the VN websites. These are in the public. There's many of them. They have hundreds of ads for Vn girls who you can be with in 15 minutes from the time you SMS them. The prices range from 400 per session to about 1 million with a few even higher than that. I have done it myself a few times, using my (as you see) very limited VN skills, via SMS. Us discussing those here poses no threat to anything. YOu communicate with them by SMS, you go to a dark semi-secret hotel where nobody knows who you are. Why can't we talk about this? Would people here be interested in this? (they should be)
Another one is the FS MP's, the Korean oriented ones near the airport, also in Phu My Hung, and the VN oriented ones on or near LHP.
One theory here is that if this info goes public, everything will get shut down. Another (opposing) theory is that if demand increases, supply will follow. The scene will grow. I think the govt is happy to play whack-a-mole and clamp down now and again on these places. And then as in the game, they then pop up elsewhere again. If we keep discussing, then we keep tabs on the whack-a-mole game and know where things are. Meet-ups are not secure because once people know who you are, you lose your privacy, anonymity. Guys promise to keep their mouth shut and not let anyone know who you are. It's bullshit, they do. If you want to remain anonymous, don't meet people, and sure don't let people know who you are.
It would be good for people to speak up here and say which side they are on about this issue, what they think. That in itself would be interesting to read.
Personally, I think our discussions here would be a lot more interesting and fun to read if they were about interesting topics (1. girls, 2. sex, 3. good places to go get 1 and 2) than about exchange rates (has no one heard of Vietcombank? it has a website with the day's rate every day) and when pepole are coming to visit (ok, I see the necessity, but ... can we also discuss more interesting things too in the meantime?). I wish members here, when they want to say a one-to-one personal Hello to their buddy, would instead do that in PM rather than in the forum. For 99% of members here, that is just space-taking noise. And there is just too much of such noise here. Sorry, don't mean to offend, but there's a spectrum, at the top is fun/interesting, and at the bottom is boring, and those posts push the needle down down down on that spectrum. No offense, I know you don't mean to do any harm but quite the opposite, you want to spread good cheer, I know, I'm just saying, that's what PM is for. It's not actually good cheer for those who aren't one of the 2 guys saying Hi to each other. It's "oh god, yet another nothing post, that's like 5 million nothing posts and 1 good one with info or something interesting out of 6 pages of reading".
I tell you, if there was one thread that was just for guys announcing they are coming, and another one for chat back and forth (so prevalent here) and another one for discussion of girls and sex and places for those, well, you know which one will be most popular. No contest. Nobody would even look at the chat and travel announcements, those threads would die, as they always have in the past. So the chat and hellos are really just piggy-backing here on the supposed main topic, and drowning it out, obliterating it, for one reason or another.
