I didn't say that those who have had chickenpox don't get shingles. In fact 50% of all chickenpox sufferers will end up with shingles by age 80.
What I said was that those who have had chickenpox won't catch shingles from someone else because you cannot catch the same virus twice over.
Chickenpox and shingles are caused by the same virus. When someone has had chickenpox, the virus remains in the body and flares up in later life as shingles.
