Actually for my case, it was a big commitment from her to meet her family. 1st time after 6 months, i was in HCMC for work and she stayed in HCMC but her family (more than 10 pax) took a 6 hours bike ride up to see me. I stayed there for only 1 night and left HCMC the next day.

2nd visit took place couple of months later, I went to her village with her and even her father who is divorced with her mum came home just to see me. Family treats me very well and her mum likes me alot. Sometimes when we quarrel there in the village, her mum always side me.

In general, meeting her family in their hometown is a big thing because they cannot have foreigners coming home with her every TET. 1 means serious relationship.
