Yes go there and book a room. Easy. I just walk to the desk and hand them my passport. They give me a key. Often no words are spoken.
Lately they always insist on passport, to me at least. Then you SMS her the room number as soon as reception gives you a key. The hotels are accustomed to renting for only one hour. That's the default. But to be certain, say "1 tieng" (pronouced MOAT TEENG). Actually if you go to a room with no luggage, they know what it's about. No need to specify because when you leave they will charge you for the time you were there.
