Chapter 6

Olivia was still wondering where her friend could be as she sat silently in Roberts car. She was wearing a white T-shirt and training pants borrowed from the nurse who happened to be going to gym after her shift ended. She felt so self conscious next to a suited up Robert. He looked ravishing in a dark grey suit and he sent out an aura of sexiness. She had managed to get hold of him after several tries and had asked him to come fetch her since Felicia was not answering her phone. He had been reluctant and it had taken a lot of persuasion for him to agree. He was going to drop her off at Felicia’s place and leave. She hoped Felicia was at her place sleeping off a hangover from a night of wild partying.

Robert’s voice pulled her out of her thoughts.

‘Why did you call me? Wasn’t there someone else that could fetch you? ’

'No, I do not have any other friends, I am an only child and my late grandmother raised me, besides you are Felicia’s boyfriend.’

‘I am not her boyfriend’
‘Okay, then are you just sex buddies?’

'No!’ His expression was serious looking as he said this. Olivia couldn’t understand why Felicia would lie about this so she waited for him to explain and when he offered nothing more she said:

'was she a one night stand?’
‘No!’
‘then what are you?’

‘Nothing! I met her at a family function, she made a move on me, I wasn’t interested, so she came up with this “friends” thing and now am stuck escorting a woman I don’t know to her place.

Olivia couldn’t help but smile at this revelation, she decided to probe even further.

‘so do you have a girlfriend?’

Robert looked at her and smiled. She couldn’t help but think of all the dirty things she wanted to do to him. After what she had been through she had vowed that she would live life to the fullest and this had to be one of those moments.

‘Are you interested in me?’

She blushed and stammered as words escaped her mind. The question was so direct that it left her speechless. She was fidgeting with her seat belt.

‘no….., I mean….. the thing is…………

Robert was laughing at her, it was a beautiful sound and she let it surround her tormented soul. They were silent for the remainder of the drive. Felicia’s flat was on the first floor in a luxurious complex at a very busy neighbourhood. He parked in front of it and switched off the engine. Olivia unbuckled her seat belt and prepared herself to get out.

sure she is fine.

She took the card and opened the passenger door.

‘thanks for helping me, am sure you are right about Felicia, bye’

‘goodbye Olivia’.
