But I need to agree with you that they were indeed very persistent. I will ignore them all the way. And nearly all who pester around there can speak a fair amount of English,so I have no problem fanning them off in my own way. I use the 'ignore button' on them all the time,hehehe...

Thank you for sharing. If you are 1st time to Batam,2D1N is more onto testing water. 3D2N is more towards moving around more places and allowing some dwelling-in-place-you-like time.

After trying,when you become more familiarize in Batam,do try coming from Batam Center Harbor...hehehe...you will feel the 'one earth one sky' in comparison, be it weekday or weekend.

If you still plan to stay in Formosa hotel again,email them to reserve your room and take up their FREE membership. If you are ALONE,ask for them to go Harbour bay (or any ferry terminal)to fetch you,if you are with friends,DON'T ever do that. You alone will cost 50k,to and fro. If you are with one friend,it will cost 100k,2 friends + you = 150k (not worth it). Free membership also gives you 10% off massage in Kings too (and most of every other things from the hotel).

Do not underestimate small demonination amount of money in Batam. It is usually the smaller spending that plays a key role for "overspending" when I am in Batam,hehehe...

1. Just below Formosa Hotel, out of its glass entrance,turn left and turn left again,within the same hotel building,there is a grocery shop that sell nearly all basic things you need. Just for your info.

2. Bunga is one of Batam MOST expensive bookin joint from my own perspective. My theory is simple,600k to 700k girls can be found there at 1 million rupiah if not more (try asking for the price for their Biggest ,Fattest, Ugly girls there and you will understand my theory better). Always pick girls base on if they are interested in you there. Otherwise,drop the idea.

3. If you have 2 person booking from the same joint,higher chance can bring the price lower. All you need to do is pretend to walk out of the shop. Once outside the shop,i am sure mami will chase after you (otherwise,just have a smoke or some small talk there). If not,then try other shop.

No matter how good and how pretty the girls were,most girls there has already grew 'strong horn' (very season old birdies) and there are reason/s why they are currently the most expensive. And the reason is definitely not becos they have some pretty faced girls; from my own perspective again.

Most of their girls who were there were NOT on contract and have been in Batam for at least a year (if not more). And their management style were ran differently from other booking joints. Even if one entire month less than 10 customer (each girl), the girls there also wont go hungry. The only joint I see in Batam that mami is more towards favoring the girls. Meaning the girls call more shots than the Mamis.

In Batam,if the girls aren't hungry enough, i expect the service level to drop. Worse,if they do not like you. Remember, paying higher do not equates to good service standard.

Until you become more confident, try not to be too reliant on taxi driver. When you knew and can walk and run around batam on your own, most taxi drivers will be at your mercy,hehehe...most taxi drivers were the street-smart-directory of Batam, learn from them but don't let them rule over.

You noticed and recognized your own mistake, unlikely you are going to make them again. Hopefully your next trip to Batam will be better than this one.
