I just took a taxi from Harbour Bay to Formosa provided by the hotel,cost me 50k for 2 way. Meaning i pay 50k,the driver brings me from any Batam ferry terminal (airport too) to the hotel and then end of my trip,they brings me back to the same terminal again.
Total cost 25k each way...hehehe...and i am almost definitely safe and sound,no need to worry at all.
Taxi drivers were like wolves in Batam,but they are also the most resourceful people. How to tap their knowledge w/o getting chop by them is another story altogether. Hence i always advise bros who knew me to bargain down...and get used to those bargaining culture. And always have alternative/s,in case of an all else fail situation.
Newbies or 1st timer were often advised to take taxi/ojek ONLY from ferry terminal to Hotel and then back,the rest just try their best to walk. I started that way too,so that i dont get a chance to be held ransom by these unreliable people (taxi drivers).
