Not posting FR but just share share a bit...
Since I decided to delay my return till CNY so I did a border run at Cambodia Pailin today. I drove up to Khlong Yai and parked at the Thai immigration side and walked over the border to Pailin.
Over at cambodia immigration I was told to pay 300 baht... probably a rip-off but the officer was nice and I also lazy to talk much so just paid it. It was my first time at Pailin and I knew there was casino below the hotel. As a leisure gambler myself I walked into J.W casino. Nothing to shout about so I walk over to NASA casino... only few tables and most people seem more interested in jackpot and a computer game shooting sea creatures. I don't know what's the payout.
The thing I want to say is, this place is a sleepy town but there seem to be a race for building construction. There are already maybe 5 casino within walking distance and they are building more. I saw a few KTV signboard and beer garden but I was there 3pm and all are closed. On the other hand, the Thailand road leading to Pailin, great effort can be seen to broaden the lanes, road works.
Hopefully it will turn into another play ground after a year of transformation. I left about 4:30pm with a bottle of whisky and a carton of Dunhill for 1000 baht. Travelling towards west on a late afternoon nearly went blind watching the blazing sun.
