There is nothing in Bavet except a few gambling houses for the VN day trippers. I took a bus from HCMC to PP and it is a pit stop for pee break and food. The Cambodians have been soliciting gaming investment dollar for a decade or two now. They cannot hold a candle to places like Mongla ( at the border of China). All these Mekong border towns have similarities like prostitution, drug smuggling, illicit animal and their parts trading and human trafficking. I suspect some gambling outposts are little more than fronts for these activities. Having said this, Bavet which belong to Cambodia’s poorest province will be a huge disappointment for a recreational visit.

I am harbouring an intent for some exotic travel like Nagaland. Maybe this place offer better game meat than some sleepy outpost
