I can’t speak for anyone here, in case I get boxed by a certain ^cane，but I would rather you make an intrepid trip, write an after thought and share your OWN findings of what your think of HCMC.

Why do you want any hand-holding ? Why do you want to see the city in others’ perspective, view points? If you come in here, and read from the last 20 - 40 pages of where to go where to eat where to chong where to relax where to shit etc, you will be able to form a basis of a great trip. If you improvise, and improve on the information here, I suspect you will already get more bang for your dong. If you go on a clean slate, that u don’t bring any preconceived ideas about the last frontier of the Chonging, u bring to the table your own experience and contribute to the rich culture here. I think it is an exciting time to fish in HCMC. Go to the back alley and explore every nook and cranny of this old city. It is one that is juxtaposed by the new city. I went to the Saigon, and saw country pumpkins shitting in plain sight in the bushes in plain sight along the boulevards. Decades later, the new city has evolved into a vibrate metropolitan wannabe. You go in now, peel the layers from the city and tell us what you are made of, or what the place is made of
