I don't think anyone would be 100% sure about the answer to your question (i can't either) but during the last Presidential election during 2014 July, overnite booking joints were open for business as usual.
Most booking girls i knew in Indonesia were more interested in making a living than heading back to hometown for election.
Air tickets not cheap.
