About the benefits, most of them are not interesting for me.
Room rates: I get a better rate anyway.
Free shuttle to HB: I admit I am lazy here. I think one has to book it in ADVANCE and on the web site, right? I never remember to do it, so I pay the standard 50k to the Formosa taxi when I rush to HB at the last minute of the last day.
Late check-out: this would be the best benefit for me, but I am used to check-out at 4pm, so for ONE HOUR after the 3pm they ask me to pay half day. I will try to look angry for that.
Free laundry: that may be interesting, but usually I do not need it, as I size my supply before leaving home.
Special discount at King's etc. Who cares? This is totally negligible, as the fee for any special service is much higher than the standard fees to pay to management. If one wants to pay less for massage ++, he better walks to Utama area, rather than showing the Gold Card to the massage lady while naked on the bed of his room in Formosa, begging for a HJ or BJ or FS with 20% discount.
FREE NIGHTS. That's the most interesting benefit of course. And I took advantage already.

I am Gold member at Marriott/SPG, but I would never book Marriott in Batam. Batam is Batam, and without Formosa for me Batam is not Batam.
