let me give some comments. relative to Sg price, many vietnamese assets are comparable to singapore. For example, the car prices in VN are comparable to Singapore. their made in vietnam toyota camry 2.4 is priced at slightly over US$50,000. Singapore's pricing is around S$90,000. Price wise not much difference. Just that in VN, u can only take loan up to 60% of car pricr and loan tenture is 3 years. So people who can buy car in vietnam are really the rich ones. As for scooters, they are not cheap either. there are a few main catergories of bikes in VN. Made in japan, made in China and made in vietnam. made in japan honda scooters cost around US$4000 to US$9000, depends on the model. And these sccoters are just 150cc. But of course, law have been lifted and importers can import bikes of higher cc from this year onwards.
residents of many countries don't need visa to stay in VN for 30 days. ASEAN residents are included. But if u plan to stay in Vn for more than 30 days, u need a business visa or resident card. To correct you, u don't qualify for resident card just because u married a viet. Many singaporeans married their vietnamese spouse in singapore, so vietnam have no information of you at all. In order to ease the application of resident card in vietnam, you must register yourself (with your marriage cert) with the minstry of foreign affairs. In HCM City, the office is next to diamond plaza. With the registration, the chances of u getting resident card due to marriage will be higher. For others, its because they work in vietnam, so company apply for them the resident card
