If you need to be discreet, should get a burner phone. SIM card is only to get a number for messaging apps to work. Thereafter you can always set up portable hotspot using your main phone data plan, and share it with your burner phone. Only drawback is you have to carry 2 phones around when doing ops. But a burner phone can be left at office, avoid bringing it home.
