Yes it's normal, some of them tell me when they wake up and they see the time passed quite awhile already they will ignore, better to entertain those who are messaging them now.
What I learn is message them early and book in advance, almost always can make it. If they give you a cmi timeslot, tell them nicely you cannot make it, and contact them next time
