End 2002 when i met my wife, i wanted to ask her to learn english. So got an old vietnamese man who gives english tuition for 400K VND a month. She came to my wife's house and when i talked to him, his english is really half cooked. I gave him my business card and the next day when he was supposed to come start the first lesson, he didn't come. He basically disappeared. There are quite a number of english schools in HCM. they learn as a group. Monthly fees range from around 300K VND to more than 1 million VND a month.
