I always throw away the box the moment I use the HP as I find those boxes very tin-teh
BTW its always wise to never ever put valuables in any check-in luggage regardless of location as its prone to theft, thats why I have never had any check-in luggages before in all my trips to Wetnam, only handcarry, save $$$ also.....
