So, i'm NOT suppose to use Spoiler to 'edit' a long post, instead i should completely take away/delete the portion of the quoted long post to make a quoted reply, in order to fall in to the cat of 'not quoting the whole post' rule.

It's easier to highlight part of the whole post, click on spoiler icon & then do away the portion of unwanted post to reply.
To edit, i've to highlight portion by portion of the whole quoted post i don't need. I need to click more times to reply to a post.
Ok, i'm lazy. I thought the spoiler icon is a function meant to make both readers & posters happy. 
i) Reader no need to read unwanted or repeated whole post unless they click on spoiler icon of post.
ii) Poster can quote the whole post but have part or whole post hidden away if they can so chose to.
