From Meteor, I decided to go to Top Ten which is 5 minutes car ride away. The first taxi I flagged asked for Rp 50,000! KNN, and refused to discount even when I told him my fare from Tunjungan Plaza to Meteor was only Rp 6000! Fuck him! I was polite to him and said that I could not afford his cab fare, and got out cos the road is really lonely and dark outside Meteor. Next cab quoted me Rp 30,000, so I guess it was a bargain? KNN. The thing the taxi drivers do is that they actually bring you up the carpark about 6-7 floors to the entrance of Top Ten; and you still have to pay the carpark entry charge of Rp 1500 yourself. If you dont do this, the taxi will drop you at the ground floor of the Top Ten Building, and it is really quiet and there is no one around at all, not even security guards.
Entry fee is Rp 50,000 and this gives you only one soft-drink.
Top Ten has many many drug users so be careful please. And the drug users are mainly girls, so scary. The girls will approach you when you walk pass or just touch your hand. They will ask you to go to the far end corner, furthest from the entrance cos it is mosre private there. Ha! What they do is to ask you for cash to buy drinks, about Rp 21,000 for one beer; and they will instead bring out their own drink (water) later. In addition, they will ask you for money to buy cigarettes, maybe Rp 5000. In return, you get? Nothing.....not even a rubba or squeeze on their breasts. The big one is when they ask you for Rp 180,000 to buy one tablet of Estacy. If you pay them, they will go and may not come back or come back and get stoned next to you, and of course they become shake-head machines. There are many local guys hanging out at the dark corners, no doubt waiting to get free fucks. Overall, there is almost no chance of getting good FL here cos they are mostly on drugs or they are out to cheat you.
Take taxi from Top Ten entrance/exit to your hotel. It will cost you more but no choice, it is safer.
