Well first of all, just by reading from your post i kinda get the feeling that we have very different definitions of "extensive due diligence". Considering how you think it's "lucky" to hit a win ratio of a mere 50%, maybe you have very high standards or i have them low, or maybe due diligence just isn't your thing.
