The forum platform is two decades old. It was written for an era when the internet was a very different place.
Over the years I have had to custom add features in an attempt to keep it up to date. However these upgrades are cobbled together with very basic features and do not have the power and flexibility that modern platforms have.
Images and videos hog a huge amount of resources and I therefore have to keep things simple otherwise the server will come to a grinding halt.
I could upgrade the whole forum and import members to the new platform but features such as the reputation system are unique to vbulletin and cannot be transferred. It would mean that everyone starts from scratch again.
Those who have worked hard to gain points would not be very happy about that.
