Amulets and barangs are almost the same. Normally amulets will have images of thai deities or Lord Buddha. Different amulets by different thai monks will serve different purposes. Some are for metta, some are for protection, some for luck and wealth, some to avoid evil...
Barangs also have the same purposes, that is to let the owners/wearers have more luck, metta, additional protection against evil or bad things, wealth generating...
