If your gf is only 20 years old, u can only marry her in vietnam. marrying in vietnam is much more tedious than marrying in Singapore. Why not wait for one more year for her to turn 21 yrs old then marry in Singapore? If you really want to get married in Vietnam, then you must prepare the following:

(1) bring your passport to a Singapore Notary Public and have it certified. following that, bring the notary public certification to the High court's Academy of Law to further certify. Last stop will be to the Vietnamese embassy in Singapore for final certification.

(2) Go to registry of marriage to make a check on their system to verify that your name is not in the list, print out the result of the check and this will prove your singlehood.

(3) Bring the documents to her province government and lodge a request to marry. The officers will meet you and her in different rooms and ask you the same same question on how the both of you met. Both of you must give same answer, or else, good luck ... Sometimes they may even ask you for photos of both of you while you were dating.

(4) Both of you will also need to go to a mental hospital in HCMC where they will ask you simple questions like `are you OK?' to certify your mental health. (makes you feel that they think you are crazy to marry in vietnam.. ahhaha)

(5) Once the provincial government approve the marriage, a date will be arranged for both parties to sign on the marriage record book.

generally, these are the steps involved in marrying in vietnam. So if any vietnamese reading this is `laffing' away and think that i am writing rubbish, you may not know this better than me. but if you think you know this better than i do, then maybe this is not the first time you are marrying a foreigner.
