I forget exactly when, but I did actually swing by Nana earlier. (Erm, sorry, this is not just about MP any more, but I don't want to break my story over different threads.) The most interesting thing about Nana was that the escalator is working again for the moment. Otherwise, the girls looked scary or zombified, and the white crowd looked like pond scum, except for me of course, who looked like a choir boy.

Anyway, going back to Nana from Soi Cowboy, it was after Nana's closing time. This means all the girls are now lined up in the parking lot opposite like a livestock fair in the countryside, and so it's by far the best time to go in fact. I saw some dark-elf ladyboys manoeuvre a little old round grey gentleman into a taxi. The expression in his eyes was that of a goat in the embrace of a python.

The girls are quoting 1000 to 1500B and plenty can make it. I see a tiny little thing reject a cocky hardbody british guy, and I ask her "why you not go with him?" No useful answer beyond "no like!" of course, but her eyes fix on me hopefully, "go hotel? go hotel?"

I fight my baser instincts for about 16 seconds, until the wizened beerlady who sold me a Heineken at her third or fourth attempt pipes up: "pretty girl! very .. young!" Well I can't really argue .. She quotes 1000B.

But already on the way to the shorttime hotel she starts sob stories .. Quite apart from the stories though she's really not OK .. too much to drink? too tired? She should just be safe home in bed .. 500B tip cheers her up, but she's in jeopardy ..
