You can always book online and print out confirmation slips of hotel bookings stating name of hotel, period of stay etc.
Once this has been submitted, you can always cancel the booking. Depending on hotel, some allow you up to 24 hours before check in and there is no charge for cancellation as long as 24 hours notice is provided.
