Called my regular mummies in Beijing n Shanghai....

The bad news started fm Beijing a few days that the central gov may shut down the ktvs n night clubs for two mths during the Olympic in BJ. They r concern that foreign media whom r promised that they can roam freely may start broadcasting scenes of KTVs n night clubs internationally. That causes a chain of panic..."

Planning a trip probably end of Aug/sept...Cheers
Hi Bro,

You are 50% right. The China 公安部 has issued instructions to close some ktvs, night clubs, bars and discos from 20 July to end Sep. But, not all will be closed. Foreigners need entertainments & night life also mah.

Those targetted are small ktvs, mainly within hotels and those rowdy places. The ktvs I frequent, like 天上人间,今日良缘,北方鑫柜 are all save and will be vibrant during the Olympic period.

If you are in Beijing and feel bored during Aug & Sep just called me or any of our SOCC bros in Beijing, we will party throughout Olympic. BTW, SOCC stands for Singapore OLYMPIC Cheonging Club.

You have choice to avoid Beijing, but many of our bros work and live here so bo bian can't avoid but join in the fun lor.

Cheers,
Mark
