Re: Bangkok Field Report
I am sure many brothers are aware of this but thought I post this just as a reminder warning to all brothers going to patpong.
Last night was there with my gal friend to bring her see ping pong show. Just as soon as we came down from the taxi, we were approached by a street tout saying ping pong show at B100 per person inclusive first drink.
I am always wary of touts and told him we are going to walk around first. But he kept on following us trying to pull us into one of the joints. I made the big mistake of following him into one.
We sat down and I confirmed with waitress and tout that it was B100 per person (which I doubt so in the first place). And they confirmed. They gave us 2 beers and we watched the show briefly. There were other tourist couples in the bar. Then I notice something amiss, one of the gals put a coke on our table without our asking.
Within 10 mins, I wanted out as the show was terrible and nowhere those I have seen before. Then came the bill. 2,900 bht! I was shocked and asked the manager why I was told it was B100 per person. Gave me a lot of bullshit about cover charge etc and that he never told us that it was B100 and the tout misrepresented them. The manager (though a lady) was very aggressive. I thought no point fighting over the amount and took the damage and left.
So beware. Never trust touts in Thailand who may come in the form of taximan, street touts (apparently, they falsely state the price and drag you into any joints to get a fee and then leave you to the mercy of the joint. They dont rep anybody or any joint exclusively) etc....
Smarter thing to do is to join one of those night tours and pay a price and let the tour guides do all the arrangements.
