According to my friends, they would prefer Singaporeans to learn their language. Basic is enough. Some of friends are crazy over Viets. They will spend time drinking at Jazzy 51 so that the Viets are comfortable with them. A couple of Viets have offered themselves FOC to my friends cos they are leaving the country.

Not really. I beg to differ. I came across many viets who can speak mandrain although not very well for some. You'll be surprised some viets can even speak simple english.
Some singaporeans learn viet because there is a need for them to avoid communication breakdown between the girl and them. Wow FOC...good for your friends. I dont have such luck yet.
