I think when you go to such hotels because it is budget hotel and for short time. So:
1) Why not pay the additional $15 and stay til the additional time is up (to have your $ worth)?;
2) Pay up and leave (do not use that Hotel in future); or
3) Pay up and leave (in future ask them to give you a call 10mins b4 time).
I think such hotels should be for convenience and we should not let convenience turn to trouble.
I believe if the issue can be solved by $, then it should not be a problem. However, if it progress till $ cannot solve, then it will become too troublesome. So it is better to solve it at minor stage. Of course, that depends on how big you view $15.
