Everyone just sharing opinions in casual manner here. Most of us here are not familiar with getting around BKK with own wheels and move around by BTS/MRT ... quicker most times than taking a cab. Perhaps just to get a clearer understanding, if we want to cab it, what is the best route to take by road from Silom down to Petch? Will it take less than 20 minutes? But from experience, because of the never ending traffic jams, even a short distance can take more than half an hour, especially around these 2 areas. If its really that close or there is a shortcut that we dont know of, please share and I can try taking a cab next time. Good to learn something new cos I usually travel by skytrain. Silom got some great food over there next to Silom complex and is always a favourite place to go kin kao.
