Now she is a permanent staff, here comes the action…

During one of the meeting with client in late June 2009, before the closing for mid-year internal audit, Wendy made a “mistake” (I set-up an ambiguity to see if the trap worked) which I conveniently used this opportunity to start my “conquest”…

(Yes, it took 4 mths 2get some action, but hey, I considered it fast already! I never thought i would use my position 4stuffs like this. Therefore, those who wish 2follow, becareful coz not every situation is the same... i consider myself lucky... & wife didnt know)

Although there were “opportunities” before, it was not the right time yet… I would be the guilty bad horny wolf if I “attacked” prematurely, but this time, the ball was in her court)

To cut long story short, the “mistake” cost about USD$12k, which is not actually a loss but only slightly reduced profit (I marked-up quite high expecting client’s request for discounts).

I sort of gave her cold shoulder for a week after internal audit, and didn’t bring her to a major seminar. She felt the cold shoulder treatment & was very unhappy.

The following week (July 2009), I was back from the seminar and asked her to attend outstation meeting with me (HK). She approached me at the airport telling me how sorry she was for the “mistake” and apologize never to repeat. She would make up for the loss by securing the following deal. I told her let bygone be bygone and the next deal depends on her performance in HK.

Since meeting and presentation were standard sales & marketing, most of the time it depended on how we secure the deal outside the meeting. (Actually, I had secured the deal before the meeting with the GM, which is not that difficult due to previous cooperation… the meeting is just a formality)

Most of the time, we went to karaoke after dinner with clients for entertainment. During karaoke with the client near the hotel we stayed, Wendy really went all the way to drink in order to entertain the client on her own initiative.
