Sorry do not have time to read through all the postings in this thread. Please forgive me if someone had already posted those places that i'm going to share below:
1) Spa/Massage @ Hanoi Hotel
- USD$32 for Happy Hour Package consisting of full body massage, foot massage, etc
- whole place is nicely decorated and clean
- Hot, warm and cold pool and sauna
- can pick the gal you want from pictures at the counter
- generally good massage
- only HJ available and they will usually ask for USD$30 or VND$500k if they know that you are foreigner. I'll usually stick to VND$300k - 400k depending on my mood else will tell her forget it.
- generally good clean place for relaxation just that its a bit expensive
2) KTV @ Hanoi Hotel
- generally good selection of gals
- targetting more towards foreigners because not cheap
- tips for the gals range from VND$200k and above. They will compare tips and if someone in your group give more, your gal will also insist on getting the same amount of tip.
- lots of gals here can speak either a bit of english or chinese.
- if you want to take away, market rate is about USD$100+-
3) The Boss KTV @ Fortuna hotel
- similar concept to KTV @ Hanoi hotel
- super good business. Must book early else quite impossible to get a room
- large selection of gals
- the rest similar to KTV @ Hanoi hotel
4) Nha Hang Hai San Sam Son Restaurant
Addr: 77 Doc Bac CO - Hoan Kiem Dist
- serve good vietnamese food including seafood
- price quite reasonable
- worth going if you have run out of places for dinner
- Its part of a hotel and massage. Never try before.
5) Massage @ Kingston Club
Addr: 53b Hang Chuoi - Hai Ba Trung
- mid range massage place
- 1.5hr massage about VND$600k+ but dependant on the package you choose.
- the room consists of a big bathtub and steam room
- first you go steam room while the gal prepare the bathtub
- once done with steam room, the gal will bathe you like a baby
- after the bath massage will commence
- HJ will also be offered
- tip is about VND$200k and above depending on how much you like to give.
- service is generally quite good and they can even get you a cab if you need
6) Hoa Vien Restaurant
Addr: 1A Tang Bat Ho, Q.Hai Ba Trung
- beer brewery concept
- serve very fantastic lamb ribs, lamb leg and sunny squid
- generally all the food there are quite good.
- nice place to meet up with friends for drinks and dinner
7) Legend Beer Restaurant
Addr: 109 Nguyen Tuan - Thanh Xuan
- beer brewery concept
- serves mainly western food
- comes with a big stage with sexy gals singing and dancing
- good place to chill out, have drinks and dinner
- serve long shredded cheese that look and taste like dried octopus. taste very good with vietnamese chilli sauce.
8) Ashima Mushroom Hotpot Restaurant
Addr: 44 Phan Dinh Phung
- serve very good mushroom hotpot
- beef, chicken are also available for the hotpot
- good service as they will cook for you and serve you
- at the end, order some maggie type noodles, put it in the hotpot and very shiok eating it
- serve wine and beer as well
- quite expensive but good!
The above are places where its generally quite safe for foreigners to go even without any locals bringing you there. Don't have to worry ganna chop carrot. Of course there are other places that are also equally good at lower cost frequent by locals. The only problem with those places is if no local bring you there, communication is a problem and they may chop carrot.
